Part of the Friends Neighborhood Guild, the Friends Rehabilitation Program (FRP) is a faith-based organization that runs a transitional housing program to help homeless families achieve stability. FRP’s transitional program serves 115 homeless households referred by the Office of Supportive Housing.

Founded by formerly homeless people, Dignity Housing provides transitional housing for homeless families in North Philadelphia. Dignity has a number of different programs tailored to the specific needs of residents. The Office of Supportive Housing makes referrals.

A faith-based transitional housing complex, Visitation Homes provides services for 18 female-headed households with 1-5 children. The Office of Supportive Housing makes referrals. Extra consideration is given to women with special needs, like drug and alcohol addiction, histories of domestic abuse, mental illness, and HIV/AIDS.

One of the Salvation Army’s homeless shelters, the Eliza Shirley House is a faith-based shelter that assists single women, families, and people with mental health issues. Eliza Shirley has a capacity of 125 people and takes referrals from the Office of Supportive Housing (OSH) and people off the street.

Somerset Emergency Shelter is operated by ADCM, a for-profit housing company, and provides services for 156 men and women at its multi-story North Philadelphia facility. The Department of Corrections and the Office of Supportive Housing make referrals.
