On Tuesday, October 21, 2008, the City of Philadelphia Office of Supportive Housing submitted its annual consolidated McKinney Homeless Assistance Programs grant to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The funding awarded through the McKinney grant is a primary source of dollars for Philadelphia's homeless Continuum of Care. This year's application was a total request of approximately $28 million for 2,295 units of which 214 are new housing units.
