Rowan Diamond Homes is part of the non-profit Project H.O.M.E. It provides seven units of independent, permanent housing in North Philadelphia to homeless families dealing with severe mental illness and/or chronic substance abuse. Office of Supportive Housing, Mental Health Case Management System, and the Street Outreach Coordination Center give referrals to Project H.O.M.E.
The seven units are all 4-bedroom units in a supportive housing environment, which includes an outdoor courtyard. Residents are expected to pay 30% of their income to rent and are encouraged to interact with the community. Project H.O.M.E. is actively partnering with local community leaders to help revitalize North Philadelphia and help homeless families adjust to their living situations.
Upon entering the Diamond program residents work with case managers to draw up a plan for living and receive help to achieve it. Services provided by Project H.O.M.E. include case management, adult and youth education, job placement and retention services, and access to quality health care. There is also a program to help residents buy their own homes when they are ready to do so.
