Bethesda Project opened Our Brother's Place in November 2003 to serve as a low demand engagement center for hard-to-reach homeless men.
Our Brother's Place was founded on the belief that homeless people possess the ability to rise to their full potential and the site offers a wide range of activities that promote self-development. Our Brother's Place offers its guests supportive services that address the physical, psycho-educational, and spiritual needs of the men. Through these supportive services and programs each man is encouraged to take control of his life.
The day program is open to any adult male who is in need of a meal, a shower, fresh clothing, case assistance, or who wants to participate in one of the site's groups or activities. While many of the day program participants are also residents of the shelter, the day program also offers services to men living on the edge of self-sufficiency. The day program allows men with mental illness, addiction, or low income to avoid having to enter the shelter system.
Our Brother's Place also operates a year-round shelter that provides an immediate and short-term housing solution for men with active addictions.
