West Allegheny Partners, a for-profit limited partnership formed by the nonprofit National Housing Affordable Trust (NHT), provides 14 units of independent, permanent housing at Hancock Manor. Located in North Philadelphia, Hancock Manor is for homeless adults dealing with chronic substance abuse and mental health issues. The Dept. of Human Services (DHS), the Office of Supportive Housing, and other homelessness service groups make referrals.
The 14 housing units are one-bedroom apartments located on West Allegheny Avenue in North Philadelphia. Residents are expected to contribute 30% of their income to rent, unless that amount exceeds the preset cost of rent.
One purpose of this program is to help parents regain custody of their children and reunite families. West Allegheny provides services to help residents make their families whole again. Other services available to residents include case management, substance abuse treatment, mental health supportive services, and health care.
