Diamond House

Operated by Molletta Personal Care Home Inc., the Diamond House is a transitional housing facility in Kensington that serves single women. Allegheny houses 12 women, and the Office of Supportive Housing, Temple University, Kirkbride Mental Health Facility, and other organizations make referrals.

A case manager social work supervisor and life skills attendant work with each resident to create an individualized plan for success. This involves finding steady income, applying for housing, saving money, ending drug and alcohol dependency, and dealing with any mental health issues. An on-site doctor or partnered institutions provide nedical care, including for HIV/AIDS.

Staff members at the Diamond House help residents obtain the proper documents to apply for social services and eventually apply for employment. Before moving on to permanent housing each resident is expected to passed certain benchmarks including passing a urine test and having steady income, $600 in savings, and no debt to utility companies.
