Recent Accomplishments
  • Philadelphia's Recalibrated 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness: Creating Homes, Strengthening Communities, & Improving Systems, endorsed by the Honorable Mayor Michael A. Nutter
  • Implementation of the Mayor's Homeless Housing Plan, including: ongoing cafe operations, 75 new low demand housing opportunities with behavioral health services, 200 housing opportunities for homeless individuals, 300 housing opportunities for homeless families, and 125 housing opportunities for chronically homeless individuals
  • Diversion program: Diverting 150 individuals experiencing homelessness from emergency housing and providing a means of returning to safe, stable, & dignified housing in the community
  • Shortening the average length of stay in emergency housing while providing quality shelter and services
  • Implementation of Philadelphia's third Housing First Program: Utilizing the Housing First model to target families living with disabilities and having involvement in multiple social service systems
  • Establishment of Philadelphia's First Engagement Center: Utilizing a low-demand approach to engagement, Grace Cafe' provides a space for individuals experiencing homelessness to engage with Outreach staff in an non-threatening manner
  • Launch of a citywide hotline for survivors of domestic violence
